Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- RN-Registered Nurse of California (must be able to acquire prior to starting).
- RN-Registered Nurse in State of Residence.
- 1 year of mental health experience.
- 2 years of practical nursing in a hospital, clinic, urgent care, or emergency room/department.
- Professional knowledge of clinical nursing protocols and risk management.
- Advanced clinical knowledge of medical diagnoses, procedures, and terminology.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working with electronic medical/health records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial screenings of psychiatric and medical needs for all incoming referrals.
- Utilize virtual assessment skills through phone triage and patient assessments.
- Triage patients in acute crisis and determine the correct level of care.
- Perform mental status assessments for involuntary hold evaluations.
- Provide illness advice, self-care intervention, resource identification, and referrals.
- Use approved telephone nursing guidelines and protocols to ensure quality care and positive patient outcomes.
