Requirements
- Fluent English (C2 proficiency) – Essential.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring software engineering teams, providing technical direction and supporting team development.
- Strong experience building and optimising systems for performance, scalability and reliability.
- Excellent hands-on proficiency in Python.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS and Azure, as well as Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps and infrastructure tooling, including CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana and Datadog.
- Proven experience building, deploying and monitoring distributed systems, across both frontend and backend environments.
- Hands-on experience working with multiple data stores, including both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Demonstrable experience using AI to empower engineering teams and accelerate the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of engineers, providing technical direction, coaching and support.
- Design, build, deploy and monitor scalable, high-quality software systems supporting Ten’s global member base.
- Work closely with Product, Data and Platform teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Drive frequent, high-quality software releases, ensuring delivery is aligned with product priorities and business objectives.
- Champion a DevOps and “you build it, you run it” mindset, taking ownership across the full product lifecycle.
- Maintain high engineering standards, with a strong focus on automated testing, reliability, performance and measurable quality.
- Monitor and analyse engineering metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure system health and performance.
- Evaluate and select appropriate technical solutions, balancing scalability, performance, complexity, cost and other key trade-offs.
