Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 8 years of nonprofit accounting and finance experience.
  • Substantial experience managing multi-year, multi-funder, and federal/state grants and contracts.
  • Deep expertise in federal compliance under 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance).
  • Proven track record leading the selection or implementation of a grants management system.
  • Demonstrated ability to standardize financial processes from manual to automated workflows.
  • Strong technical skills with financial systems and data tools (e.g., SageIntacct, Salesforce, Rippling).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, nonprofit revenue recognition, and indirect cost allocation methodology.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Ability to travel for org retreats and job-related tasks 2-5 times per year.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full post-award lifecycle for federal, state, and private foundation grants and contracts including setup, cost-reimbursement, drawdowns, and reporting.
  • Act as primary point of contact between Development and Finance teams to translate grant agreements into budgets and financial systems.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with federal grant requirements under 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance).
  • Lead the identification, selection, and implementation of a new grants management system to replace manual processes.
  • Develop proposal budgets and provide financial guidance to non-finance staff.
  • Manage indirect cost rate negotiations and maintain overall grant compliance.
