Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in security engineering.
- Breadth of knowledge across application security, cloud security, and compliance.
- Hands-on technical skills: ability to read code, write scripts, and configure cloud controls.
- Direct experience owning or heavily contributing to SOC 2 (or ISO 27001) audits.
- Experience answering security reviews for enterprise or financial institutions.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Strong judgment in balancing risks and security controls suitable for the company's scale.
- Experience in fintech or banking-vendor environments (nice to have).
- Familiarity with FFIEC, GLBA, or bank third-party risk management (nice to have).
- Experience as a first or early security hire (nice to have).
- Detection engineering and SIEM experience (nice to have).
Responsibilities
- Oversee secure SDLC, including dependency scanning, static analysis, and security reviews.
- Partner with DevOps on IAM, secrets management, network architecture, logging, and detection.
- Develop security policies, conduct risk assessments, and manage the security roadmap.
- Own security questionnaires, vendor risk assessments, and customer security reviews.
- Manage endpoint security, access reviews, phishing resistance, and offboarding.
- Own the full SOC 2 Type II compliance process, including control design and auditor management.
- Lead incident response planning, tabletop exercises, and actual breach response.
