Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics) or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of experience in data science and machine learning, ideally in tech or marketplace environments.
- Experience working with non-deterministic system outputs, such as LLM applications, conversational agents, or ranking and recommendation systems.
- Expertise in statistical thinking and advanced experiment design.
- Proven track record of taking impactful work into production environments and maintaining system health.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Experience with cloud ML solutions.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred: Experience with LLM applications in production, including prompting, agent design, or evaluation tooling.
- Preferred: Experience with voice or telephony systems, streaming speech recognition, or workflow orchestration.
- Preferred: Background in home services, field service, or operations-heavy marketplaces.
Responsibilities
- Lead improvements to agent conversation, qualification, and booking through design, prompting, and logic.
- Build evaluation systems for agent quality, including automated checks and model-based evaluation frameworks.
- Perform conversation analysis to identify failure modes and prioritize technical improvements.
- Develop and deploy predictive models for qualification, engagement, and channel selection into production.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams to build scalable, data-driven solutions.
- Foster team innovation through exploration of new techniques and research from industry and academia.
- Mentor junior team members and promote a culture of technical excellence.
