Requirements
- 2 years of experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license.
- Experience in Addiction and Mental Health.
- Experience working with adults in need of general mental health and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment.
- Experience and comfort working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13+).
- Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or substance abuse dual-diagnoses.
- Proficiency with treatment planning and comprehensive assessments.
- Experience with EHR systems and high-quality, timely documentation.
- Comfortable with telehealth software and video communication.
- Open to obtaining additional state licensures.
- Active DEA registration for Florida or New York license holders.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ mental and physical status based on presenting symptoms and complaints.
- Diagnose psychiatric disorders and conduct individual psychotherapy.
- Prescribe psychotropic medications and monitor patient response and side effects.
- Order diagnostic testing such as EKGs and lab work as needed.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and evaluate treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families regarding mental health conditions and medications.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
- Complete administrative documentation including FMLA forms.
