Requirements
- Qualified accountant and/or qualified tax advisor, or qualified by significant experience.
- Significant in-house experience working in Operational Tax.
- Proven ability to work relatively autonomously.
- Energetic and hands-on approach to tackling operational tax tasks.
- Strong eye for detail and ability to work methodically through complex processes.
- Interest in Monzo's mission and product offering.
Responsibilities
- Act as the subject matter expert on operational tax to advise the business and support growth in new markets.
- Manage operational tax processes and controls, including BBSI, ISA reporting, FATCA, CRS, Corporate Criminal Offence, and CT61s.
- Partner with Product and local market teams to embed tax compliance into product design and test edge cases.
- Monitor tax laws, regulations, and case law in the UK and EU to translate requirements into clear actions.
- Collaborate with Product, Financial Crime, Engineering, Legal, and Finance teams to solve tax-related business problems.
