Requirements
- Degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of building and scaling large-scale distributed systems.
- Proficiency in one or more of Go Lang, Python or Java, with a strong preference for GoLang.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, software design, microservices architecture and cloud computing.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Demonstrated ability to independently own a service or functional area end to end.
- Strong documentation skills including design docs, ADRs and runbooks.
- Passion for building elegant, pragmatic solutions to real-world problems at scale.
- Genuine desire to learn, grow and invest in your own craft over time.
Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver highly-scalable, highly-available, cloud-ready services that power domain search experiences.
- Take primary ownership of one or more core services within the Find platform, driving end-to-end delivery.
- Lead incident response and on-call rotations for Find systems, independently resolving operational issues.
- Proactively identify improvement opportunities, author design docs, and define Jira breakdowns.
- Adopt and champion modern development practices including AI-assisted development tools, DevOps and CI/CD automation.
- Share technical work and innovations with the broader engineering organisation through brown bag sessions or demos.
