Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in engineering, physics, or another relevant science discipline from an accredited university.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to apply technical methods and engineering principles to complex challenges.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability for technical quality and project results.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization and across multiple teams.
  • Leadership capabilities and a proactive approach to managing responsibilities, communicating issues, and delivering results.
  • Master of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering (highly desirable).
  • Experience with Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) technology (preferred).
  • Familiarity with BWR core simulators and three-dimensional neutron kinetics codes (preferred).
  • Programming experience with Python or C# (advantage).
  • Ability and willingness to continuously develop technical knowledge in nuclear fuel, reactor-core analysis, licensing, and cycle management.

Responsibilities

  • Apply analytical methods, engineering procedures, and technical techniques to solve complex problems related to nuclear fuel and reactor-core operations.
  • Perform analysis and design calculations supporting operating reactor cores, BWR fuel reload licensing, and cycle management activities.
  • Develop, document, and communicate technical results, ensuring engineering findings are clear, accurate, and traceable.
  • Prepare and present technical information and data to internal stakeholders and external utility customers.
  • Deliver nuclear fuel reload engineering projects in accordance with established schedules, cost targets, customer requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Maintain high standards of technical quality and ensure all work complies with NRC regulations, applicable guidelines, customer requirements, and business quality assurance procedures.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Account Managers and technical customer representatives to address project needs and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Coordinate and manage reload-related projects across the broader Fuels organization, working effectively within a matrixed team structure.
  • Promote open communication, knowledge sharing, and constructive collaboration across engineering and project teams.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and continue developing technical and professional capabilities through ongoing learning.
