Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, carrier sales, or a related industry.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Source, negotiate, and secure qualified carriers to transport customer freight while supporting competitive pricing and service requirements.
  • Develop new carrier relationships through lead generation, cold calling, referrals, and proactive outreach.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with trucking company contacts, including owner-operators, dispatchers, and drivers.
  • Help price and quote open-deck freight loads based on capacity, market conditions, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain regular communication with carriers to secure additional truck capacity and manage existing business relationships.
  • Use transportation technology platforms, operational data, and available resources to inform decisions and negotiate effectively.
  • Identify shipment, capacity, pricing, or service issues and collaborate with internal teams to implement solutions.
  • Ensure shipment information, requirements, and updates are communicated accurately and recorded in internal systems.
  • Track shipments and follow up consistently to ensure reliable execution.
