Requirements
- Proven experience in crop insurance.
- Knowledge of the MPCI (Multiple Peril Crop Insurance) program.
- Understanding of underwriting rules, FCIC regulations, policy provisions, and actuarial documents.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of related experience (preferred).
- Proficiency with data entry, including ten-key skills.
- Ability to comprehend and address agent questions over the telephone.
- Ability to train other underwriting team members.
- Capacity to read and interpret complex manuals and handbooks.
- Strong attention to detail for confirming accuracy of policy information.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and process policies from agents.
- Verify acreage and production reports for accuracy.
- Research agent inquiries and provide timely, accurate responses.
- Review and approve applications for renewals in accordance with RMA/FCIC guidelines.
- Interpret and apply FCIC policies and actuarial documents to work tasks.
- Work Policy Acceptance and Storage System (PASS) errors and train other team members.
- Process RMA exceptions and manage production/acreage report data entry.
- Conduct quality assurance and policy reviews for applications and production reports.
