Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a data-heavy backend role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for reading and analyzing non-trivial queries.
- Hands-on experience building and operating data pipelines with an orchestration framework (Dagster or Airflow desired).
- Strong proficiency in Python or another data-oriented programming language.
- Experience with cloud data warehouses or analytical stores like BigQuery, ClickHouse, Snowflake, or Redshift.
- Experience integrating third-party REST APIs, including handling pagination, rate limits, and data inconsistencies.
- Proven instinct for data correctness, reconciliation, and audit-grade data handling.
- Demonstrated AI-augmented working style with experience using AI tools across the engineering lifecycle.
- Experience developing solutions in the cloud and using cloud services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Self-organized, goal-oriented, and tenacious work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Build new integrations against third-party billing and usage APIs and keep existing ones updated as vendor models change.
- Utilize AI daily across the full engineering workflow including prototyping, code generation, debugging, and testing.
- Ensure data quality, correctness, and completeness by building checks and reconciliation for ingestion pipelines.
- Design and build data models to normalize vendor bills for consistent comparison.
- Own end-to-end orchestration, scheduling, and backfill mechanics for ingestion pipelines.
- Collaborate with product, support, and engineering teams to identify and address data gaps.
