Requirements
- Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience, including shipping production models or data systems.
- Expert-level Python engineering skills for production services.
- Strong applied computer vision expertise (transformers, CNNs, transfer learning, fine-tuning).
- Advanced PostgreSQL expertise, including schema design, query optimization, and pgvector.
- Experience building lexical and semantic retrieval systems and LLM application engineering.
- Strong AWS experience (SageMaker, GPU instances, Fargate, RDS, S3).
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi or Terraform) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
- Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering teams.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Ability to travel up to approximately 10% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Own the data science components of client engagements end to end, from architecture and evaluation design through production deployment and monitoring.
- Collaborate with clients, sales, and engineers to define technical strategies and Statements of Work.
- Build and deploy reliable data, retrieval, machine learning, and AI pipelines into production environments.
- Develop applied computer vision solutions, including model training, evaluation, transfer learning, and inference.
- Architect retrieval and RAG systems using lexical and semantic approaches, embeddings, and hybrid retrieval.
- Present technical results, limitations, and recommendations to non-technical clients.
- Mentor senior engineers and establish best practices for DataOps and MLOps.
