Requirements
- 2+ years in insurance billing, AR, premium accounting, or payment operations.
- Experience with a Salesforce-based agency management or policy system.
- Working knowledge of premium billing mechanics: agency vs. direct bill, premium finance, commission netting, surplus lines taxes and fees, pro-rata and short-rate.
- Advanced Excel skills including lookups, pivots, and large-file reconciliation.
- Ability to distinguish user error from platform defect and write reproducible bug reports.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain invoices to non-accountants.
- Exposure to SQL or BI tools such as Metabase or Hex.
- Experience with SOP authoring and Slack-based operational monitoring.
- E&S/wholesale or MGA experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Manage payment-link and portal access issues for agents and insureds.
- Maintain an internal known-issues and workaround log for consistent inquiry resolution.
- Log recurring payment platform defects and escalate to leadership while tracking resolution status.
- Serve as first-line triage for billing issues to determine root causes such as data entry or system integration errors.
- Investigate and resolve invoice generation failures, including policies not billing or stuck in draft.
- Resolve sync and integration breaks between the payment platform and Salesforce.
- Research payment application failures such as failed ACH/card payments or incorrect posting.
- Handle refund and return-premium exceptions including incorrect cancellation amounts.
- Manage and correct notice-of-cancellation and dunning misfires.
