Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Claims Examiner (preferred).
- Prior experience in supervising, mentoring, training, or leading others (preferred).
- Knowledge of disability adjudication principles, methods, and procedures.
- Knowledge of current federal and state laws pertaining to leaves of absence.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply complex rules and regulations.
- Strong supervisory, teaching, and coaching skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage time, set priorities, and handle a fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and advise claims examiners in all phases of the adjudication process.
- Schedule, assign, and oversee the work of team members, resolving workflow and caseload challenges.
- Monitor team output for process uniformity, regulatory compliance, and departmental service standards.
- Resolve escalated or complex claims and act as a subject matter expert.
- Contribute to departmental policy development, workflow improvements, and project assignments.
- Manage daily check reports, overpayments, and liens.
- Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and training of new staff.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and timely performance evaluations for team members.
- Establish and implement corrective action plans as needed.
