Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
  • Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
  • Track record of developing highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Deep expertise in designing and operating scalable backend data pipelines and batch processing systems using Spark, Airflow, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience defining technical plans for significant features with elegant and extensible designs.
  • Strong proficiency in making significant changes in large code bases safely.
  • Proven ability to proactively seek feedback and take ownership of professional growth.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team.
  • Lead engineers through ambiguity to solve complex, open-ended problems.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and analytics stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Identify and solve project, process, technology, or business issues.
  • Support operations and availability by monitoring metrics and participating in on-call efforts.
  • Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting code review and design standards.
  • Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and mentorship.
