Requirements

  • 1 year of medical office experience with high-volume patient contact, scheduling, and insurance authorization; or 1.5 years in public contact plus 6 months in a medical office.
  • Thorough knowledge of PAS policies and procedures.
  • Basic computer proficiency including word processing and Windows applications.
  • Experience with online scheduling systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of medical office experience preferred.
  • Radiology office experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with RIS and EPIC systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of radiology-specific medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain authorizations for consultations, procedures, and ancillary services.
  • Schedule complex patient appointments across diagnostic imaging modalities.
  • Collect required clinical information, including diagnoses and coding, from referring providers.
  • Coordinate pre-operative appointments and ancillary service arrangements.
  • Collect patient payments and maintain accurate scheduling records.
  • Resolve concerns from patients, providers, and managed care plans.
  • Deliver professional customer service across multiple communication channels.
