Requirements
- 1 year of medical office experience with high-volume patient contact, scheduling, and insurance authorization; or 1.5 years in public contact plus 6 months in a medical office.
- Thorough knowledge of PAS policies and procedures.
- Basic computer proficiency including word processing and Windows applications.
- Experience with online scheduling systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Associate degree preferred.
- 2+ years of medical office experience preferred.
- Radiology office experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with RIS and EPIC systems preferred.
- Knowledge of radiology-specific medical terminology preferred.
Responsibilities
- Obtain authorizations for consultations, procedures, and ancillary services.
- Schedule complex patient appointments across diagnostic imaging modalities.
- Collect required clinical information, including diagnoses and coding, from referring providers.
- Coordinate pre-operative appointments and ancillary service arrangements.
- Collect patient payments and maintain accurate scheduling records.
- Resolve concerns from patients, providers, and managed care plans.
- Deliver professional customer service across multiple communication channels.
