Requirements

  • +2 years of experience building complex data pipelines.
  • Experience working with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Mastery of SQL language.
  • Familiarity with Medallion architecture.
  • Experience with designing for scale and data growth.
  • Business and product understanding with the ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Potential to build rock-solid Python applications.
  • Experience with cloud data technologies (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Familiarity with big data tools such as Redshift, Spark, Trino, Iceberg, or Airflow.
  • Experience with defining and measuring data quality using tools like Monte Carlo or Great Expectations.
  • Familiarity with Claude Code, Cursor, skills, and AI agents.
  • Excellent written and verbal proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Enable efficient consumption of domain data as a product by delivering and promoting strategically designed actionable datasets and data models.
  • Build, maintain, and improve rock-solid data pipelines using a broad range of technologies.
  • Support teams without data engineers in building decentralised data solutions and product integrations.
  • Build data pipelines in our Lakehouse using Medallion architecture.
  • Act as a data ambassador, promoting the value of data and our data platform among engineering teams and enabling cooperation.
  • Cooperate with product teams to look for opportunities to integrate data into our end products.
  • Follow and promote data mesh principles around decentralised data ownership and 'data as a product'.
  • Promote and uphold privacy-by-design principles to ensure compliance with security and privacy standards.
  • Increase data literacy of the engineering organisation by hosting training and mentoring other engineers.
  • Help advance agentic systems tailored for data engineering through the creation of specialized skills and agents.
