Requirements
- Hands-on background in site reliability, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure engineering.
- Experience leading an SRE, infrastructure, or platform engineering team with a focus on people management.
- Proven capability to coach for growth, resolve team conflict, and foster commitment.
- Experience with Kubernetes in production including operational challenges.
- Proficiency with AWS at meaningful scale.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Hands-on experience building, enabling, and scaling AI infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of observability principles and CI/CD systems like GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Experience managing incident response, on-call rotations, and SLO/error budget frameworks.
- Strong written communication skills for an async, fully distributed environment.
- Proven ability to prioritize operational load against project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full career lifecycle of direct reports, including hiring, onboarding, feedback, and performance assessments.
- Steer the team's focus using judgement against company goals while managing operational load versus project delivery.
- Act as the team's spokesperson to the rest of engineering and senior leadership.
- Oversee core infrastructure including Kubernetes, AWS, PostgreSQL, DNS, TLS, and CI/CD systems.
- Develop and maintain reliability practices such as SLOs, error budgets, and incident response models.
- Partner with the Security team on threats, patching, infrastructure controls, and compliance audits.
