Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant robotics, controls, software, or systems engineering experience.
  • Production experience programming and commissioning industrial robotic arms (e.g., Yaskawa Motoman, Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, or Universal Robots).
  • Strong understanding of robot kinematics, coordinate frames, path planning, and palletizing/depalletizing logic.
  • Practical functional safety knowledge (ISO 10218, ISO/TS 15066, risk assessments, safety PLCs).
  • Controls integration experience involving PLCs, industrial protocols, and sensors.
  • Production experience with ROS or ROS 2.
  • Strong programming ability in Python and C++ for control applications.
  • Experience building production services using TypeScript, Node.js, or Go.
  • Familiarity with integration protocols including REST, gRPC, MQTT, and WebSockets.
  • Ability to build operator interfaces using React or similar frameworks.
  • Strong customer-facing communication and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery at enterprise customer sites to baseline automation cells, robot controllers, I/O maps, and physical constraints.
  • Design, build, integrate, and commission control and motion logic for high-volume palletizing and sortation applications.
  • Own functional safety approaches, including risk assessments, interlocks, and emergency stop configurations.
  • Develop control and telemetry interfaces between the platform and robot controllers, PLCs, and fieldbus systems.
  • Build operator-facing interfaces to visualize robot-driven work and handle system exceptions.
  • Translate AI/computer vision outputs into reliable machine actions with robust failure-handling protocols.
  • Create documentation, test coverage, and training materials to ensure customer solutions are durable and reusable.
