Requirements
- Production experience programming and commissioning industrial robotic arms such as Yaskawa Motoman, Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, or Universal Robots.
- Expertise in robot motion including kinematics, path planning, and collision avoidance.
- Deep knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 10218, ISO TS 15066) and risk assessment methodologies.
- Experience with controls integration including PLCs, sensors, conveyors, and industrial protocols.
- Proven experience with ROS or ROS 2 in a production environment.
- Strong software engineering skills in Python and C++.
- Experience with production services in TypeScript, Node, Go, or Python, and event-driven integration (REST, gRPC, MQTT, WebSockets).
- Ability to develop functional operator UIs in React.
- Experience working onsite with enterprise customers and navigating warehouse/distribution environments.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration between technical staff and business leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery onsite to establish equipment and controls baselines.
- Design, build, and commission control and motion logic for industrial palletizing and sortation cells.
- Own the functional safety story end to end, including risk assessments and documentation.
- Develop command and telemetry interfaces between the platform and robot controllers, PLCs, and fleet managers.
- Turn vision model outputs into safe and correct machine actions.
- Design robust failure modes and recovery processes for edge cases.
- Develop operator-facing UIs to show work in progress and exceptions.
- Deliver documentation, test coverage, and internal training to ensure platform durability.
