Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing, building, and operating highly scalable, mission-critical distributed systems and SaaS products.
- Proven track record of leading complex technical initiatives and delivering robust software architecture from design to production.
- Strong enthusiasm for agentic development practices, LLM integration, and modern software paradigms.
- Ability to design high-level technical solutions on a whiteboard while remaining connected to code-level execution.
- Effective communication skills to articulate complex technical ideas to technical peers and product leadership.
- Ideally experienced with AWS-hosted systems.
- Experience with enterprise integration frameworks or event-driven messaging systems is a plus.
- Experience establishing robust CI/CD, testing, and deployment strategies for complex systems is a plus.
- Domain knowledge in 3rd party system integrations or restaurant operations is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Leverage cutting edge AI tools to enhance development workflow, improve velocity, and pioneer new approaches to building.
- Lead developers, product managers, designers, and user researchers to build infrastructure for scalable partner integrations.
- Architect, create, and maintain an AI harness for the rapid integration and maintenance of partners with Toast’s systems.
- Define and drive technical strategy for problems affecting international expansion efforts.
- Mentor developers through code-pairing and detailed code, architecture, and project reviews.
- Champion best practices for development, deployment, and quality life cycles.
- Document solution design, write and review code, test, and rollout solutions to production.
