Requirements

  • Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership in an accounts payable function.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, internal controls, and vendor management.
  • Proficiency with accounting and payment processing systems (Sage Intacct and Tipalti preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex AP issues and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full Accounts and Grants Payable cycle, ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely transaction processing.
  • Directly supervise AP staff, including assigning work, providing guidance, and monitoring performance.
  • Provide hands-on AP processing and operational support during high-volume periods or staff absences.
  • Oversee the processing and review of grants and bills, including GL coding, approvals, and resolution of aging items.
  • Supervise weekly payment runs and maintain strong internal controls and segregation of duties.
  • Manage vendor and grantee data in Tipalti and ensure consistency across Sage, Salesforce, and other systems.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for internal teams, vendors, and grantees regarding AP matters.
  • Support financial close activities including expense accruals, reconciliations, and 1099 compliance.
  • Identify and implement system improvements and document AP procedures to ensure scalability.
