Requirements
- 5+ years of PM experience with a specific focus on infrastructure or distributed systems.
- Mastery of concepts like CAP theorem, consistency models, and sharding strategies.
- Deep technical empathy, including experience with on-call duties or debugging production incidents.
- Strong ability to debate consensus algorithms and technical architecture with senior engineers.
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence.
- Exceptional narrative skills to connect low-level system metrics to business outcomes.
- Ability to influence architectural decisions without formal authority.
- Understanding of long-term success criteria for platform products and abstractions.
- Experience with search technologies like Elasticsearch, Solr, or Lucene (nice to have).
- Experience with AI/ML infrastructure or vector search/embeddings management (nice to have).
Responsibilities
- Drive the long-term technical vision for MongoDB Search by anticipating patterns in vector, hybrid, and AI-native applications.
- Act as the voice of customers building mission-critical AI applications to uncover latent needs around scalability and consistency.
- Partner with engineering leadership to translate technical tradeoffs into business value, balancing innovation with production stability.
- Collaborate with SRE and Solutions Architects to build advanced instrumentation strategies and feedback loops for system resilience.
- Define and publish official SLOs/SLIs and lead the rollout of high-signal alerting strategies.
