Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in product management at companies known for product quality.
- Experience in prosumer, creative tools, or small business SaaS environments.
- Deep customer obsession with the ability to balance holistic user value against business and technical constraints.
- Proven track record of driving new product initiatives and uncovering value through new approaches.
- Analytical rigor, including business strategy modeling, ROI estimation, and A/B test interpretation.
- Fluency in First-principles and Lean thinking to navigate ambiguous problem spaces.
- Strong design fluency to direct UX quality and align teams using prototyping.
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
- Builder mentality with experience shipping in resource-constrained environments.
- Strong product craft with experience in planning cadences, specs, and roadmap communication.
Responsibilities
- Own product strategy and execution for a major area of SmugMug's product across multi-quarter initiatives.
- Collaborate with insights, marketing, CX, and UX to center customer needs in all product decisions.
- Frame large, ambiguous problem spaces, scope value, align the organization, and assess real-world impact.
- Connect product and platform strategy to quarterly and sprint-level execution through clear communication and roadmapping.
- Drive innovation using Lean, design thinking, and first-principles reasoning.
- Build ROI cases, define upfront measurement approaches, and model value creation alongside operational costs.
- Mentor and raise the bar on product management craft, including planning, specs, and release coordination.
