Requirements
- 8+ years of combined law firm and in-house experience focused on commercial agreements.
- Strong expertise in SaaS agreements, technology licensing, and channel arrangements (reseller, distribution, MSP).
- J.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the United States.
- Strong understanding of data protection and privacy laws (e.g., GDPR).
- Experience negotiating Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
- Ability to work independently to resolve complex legal and business problems.
- Excellent communication skills for translating legal concepts to business stakeholders.
- Proven negotiation and relationship-building capabilities.
- CIPP certification is a plus.
- Cybersecurity industry experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of commercial legal matters and strategic initiatives.
- Negotiate complex, high-value agreements with customers and strategic partners.
- Represent the Legal function in executive-facing interactions.
- Provide practical legal advice across commercial, privacy, regulatory, and compliance matters.
- Partner with Sales, Revenue Operations, and Product teams to align transactions with risk thresholds.
- Lead cross-functional legal projects, including process improvements and policy development.
- Ensure commercial activities comply with international data privacy requirements.
- Mentor and train junior legal team members.
