Requirements
- Current certification through AAPC (CPC, COC) or AHIMA (CCS, CCS-P).
- Minimum of 6 months on-the-job coding experience.
- 1+ years of Cardiothoracic surgery professional fee coding experience.
- Working knowledge of EMR and billing systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, spreadsheets).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook (email, scheduling).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and home phone.
- Access to current CPT and ICD-10-CM coding reference materials.
- Ability to maintain 95% accuracy and quality scores.
- Strong communication, analytical, and time management skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide coding services for various client specialties.
- Calculate ProFee E/M levels.
- Assign CPT codes for Cardiothoracic surgical procedures.
- Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes to the highest level of specificity.
- Accurately apply ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
- Interpret coding guidelines for accurate code assignment.
- Ensure documentation compliance to impact reimbursement accurately.
- Maintain privacy and security of Personal Health Information (PHI).
