Requirements
- Proven experience in fundraising, including donor relations and establishing revenue streams.
- Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience in grassroots organizing, training, motivating volunteer teams, and coalition building.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement strategic plans and facilitate organizational goal-setting.
- Experience in organizational conflict resolution and supporting diverse teams.
- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and proof of auto insurance.
- Commitment to environmental, racial, economic, and gender justice.
- Availability for evening and weekend work as required.
- Proficiency with Google Suite, Salesforce, and online database/productivity tools.
- Non-profit management or Board experience is a plus.
- Experience in climate/environmental policy and state/federal legislative processes is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead fundraising initiatives including solicitation of high-net-worth individuals and direct mail strategies.
- Manage state-based staff and oversee volunteer recruitment, leadership development, and strategic organizing.
- Facilitate the development of long-term strategic, programmatic, and financial goals in coordination with the Executive Committee.
- Oversee media and public relations strategies and manage digital communications.
- Engage in coalition-building and represent the Chapter to community leaders, elected officials, and external organizations.
- Develop and track the annual budget in partnership with the Chapter Treasurer and Executive Committee.
- Ensure organizational compliance with Sierra Club policies and applicable local, state, and national laws.
