Requirements
- Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, math, economics, quantitative social sciences, or related discipline.
- Four years of relevant research experience.
- Previous supervisory experience, including hiring and performance management.
- Advanced proficiency in designing, executing, and troubleshooting code in R.
- Experience with large dataset management and computationally efficient modeling techniques.
- Experience in statistical modeling, including small-area or geospatial epidemiologic models.
- Strong project management skills, including scoping, deadline setting, and progress tracking.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a track record of scientific co-authorship.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and troubleshoot data, method, and code issues.
Responsibilities
- Supervise employees, including hiring, training, priority setting, performance coaching, and mentorship.
- Define, scope, and document research project work to ensure timely, high-quality results.
- Monitor individual and team performance, resolving obstacles and conflicts.
- Perform independent quantitative analyses, including person-level longitudinal data analysis.
- Develop and implement new computational and statistical methods.
- Write, test, and maintain analytic code in R.
- Draft presentations, manuscripts, and funding proposals, and lead or co-author scientific articles.
- Coordinate with collaborating research sites and external partners.
