Requirements
- 10-15+ years of experience in assessment design, test development, or curriculum leadership.
- Direct, hands-on experience with assessment and measurement processes.
- Demonstrated track record of innovation in assessment design (skills-based, project-based, or credential-connected).
- Working fluency in assessment data and psychometric output (item statistics, score distributions, equating).
- Experience running complex, multi-stakeholder timelines against fixed external deadlines.
- Proven track record of driving change and building buy-in across diverse stakeholders.
- Experience building and leading teams in a matrixed organization.
- Passion for educational/career opportunities and mission-driven work.
- Comfort with emerging technologies, AI-driven solutions, and digital tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to a learner's mindset and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Learning and Assessment innovation leaders to identify, select, and incorporate innovative item types for new course AP Exams.
- Lead the design and development of test blueprints, pilot exam versions, and scoring models.
- Define and own assessment models that generate and store workforce credentials.
- Partner with the psychometrics team on exam version assembly, equating, and standard settings.
- Build, lead, and mentor a team of assessment design staff.
- Oversee the calibration and training of subject matter expert panels on assessment writing and review.
- Sign off on assessment deliverables and milestones throughout the project lifecycle.
