Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Minimum of seven years of related experience in the workers compensation insurance industry.
- Background in a Marketing or Underwriting role is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to master proprietary and vended software applications.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals and technical procedures.
- Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Effective presentation skills for management and public groups.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work activities efficiently.
- Frequent travel within a specified territory required.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute territory plans with effective travel schedules.
- Position the company as the market of choice with agents and target markets.
- Monitor agency growth and profitability to identify and address performance gaps.
- Manage agency partnerships to achieve premium standards and growth goals.
- Conduct in-person agency visits and participate in prospect or stewardship meetings.
- Influence partnerships by educating agents on value propositions and service models.
- Mentor other Business Development Managers.
- Analyze competitor information to develop actionable territory plans.
- Maintain accurate producer profiles, business plans, and agency files.
