Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on Power BI experience (Desktop and Service).
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Finance, or related quantitative field.
- Advanced skills in DAX and Power Query (M).
- Strong SQL proficiency, including complex calculations, joins, window functions, and stored procedures.
- Deep understanding of dimensional data modelling (star schemas, fact/dimension tables, slowly changing dimensions).
- Experience with Power BI Service administration (gateways, row-level security, workspaces, deployments, refreshes, troubleshooting).
- Ability to explain insights to senior non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, datasets, and semantic models using best-practice star-schema modelling.
- Build advanced DAX and Power Query solutions, including complex calculations, time intelligence, and performance optimisation.
- Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, transform, validate, and integrate data from multiple business systems.
- Design and maintain dimensional data models and data warehouse layers, including fact tables, dimension tables, and slowly changing dimensions.
- Build and support ETL/ELT data pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, dbt, SSIS, or equivalent platforms.
- Manage Power BI Service and data governance, including workspaces, gateways, row-level security, refresh schedules, data quality, and documentation.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and Sales stakeholders to translate business requirements into meaningful insights, reporting solutions, and recommendations for senior management.
