Requirements
- 6–8 years of practical experience in compliance, governance, legal, company secretarial, regulatory, or a closely related role within India.
- Strong working knowledge of Indian legislation, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance practices.
- Demonstrated ability to research, interpret, and communicate complex legislative and regulatory requirements in clear, practical language.
- Experience monitoring regulatory developments and translating changes into actionable business requirements.
- Knowledge of Indian data protection and privacy requirements, particularly the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and related rules.
- Experience maintaining compliance registers, regulatory calendars, governance records, policies, procedures, and controls.
- Strong analytical, organisational, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and spoken English and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at different organisational levels.
- Confidence in providing constructive challenge, identifying concerns, and escalating compliance issues appropriately.
- Experience creating, adapting, or implementing policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Ability to understand and interpret relevant contractual terms and conditions.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence working with digital collaboration tools.
Responsibilities
- Act as a key point of knowledge for Indian legislative, regulatory, privacy, and corporate governance requirements.
- Monitor changes in Indian legislation and assess business impact.
- Maintain the India compliance obligations framework and regulatory calendar.
- Support compliance with Indian data protection and privacy requirements, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act.
- Manage corporate and company-secretarial compliance activities, including filings, resolutions, and registrations.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and operational teams to implement compliance obligations.
- Identify compliance gaps and provide recommendations and escalations.
- Conduct internal compliance, management-system, and audit activities.
