Requirements
- 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience with production Ruby on Rails applications.
- Proven track record of owning and delivering complex, multi-component features.
- Expert-level Ruby on Rails proficiency.
- Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL (schema design, query optimization).
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design.
- Experience with background job processing (e.g., Sidekiq).
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Understanding of observability practices (logging, metrics, tracing).
- Working knowledge of Go.
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and build performant, scalable, and reliable Rails-based backend services.
- Lead the technical design and implementation of complex features end-to-end.
- Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks and improve backend system resilience.
- Propose and drive architectural decisions, evaluating tradeoffs.
- Mentor Software Engineers I, II, and III through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
- Define and advocate for best practices in code quality, testing, observability, and deployment.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and QA to translate product goals into technical solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotation for production incidents.
