Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, with meaningful time building Ruby on Rails applications.
- Experience delivering complex features to drive business outcomes.
- Ability to break down ambiguous requirements into concrete technical plans.
- Exposure to large-scale, high-throughput distributed systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Ruby on Rails.
- Strong PostgreSQL skills, including schema design, query optimization, and migrations.
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs within Rails.
- Solid testing practices using RSpec or Minitest.
- Familiarity with background job processing (e.g., Sidekiq) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to team-level architectural decisions regarding data modeling, service boundaries, API design, and background processing.
- Take ownership of features end-to-end, from technical design to delivery.
- Produce idiomatic, performant, and well-tested Ruby code.
- Identify and act on opportunities to improve code quality, performance, and developer experience.
- Provide technical guidance to Software Engineers I and II via code reviews, pairing, and design feedback.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA to align technical implementation with product goals.
- Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Document technical decisions, data models, and service patterns.
