Requirements
- At least 12 years of progressively responsible experience in grants, award, or portfolio management.
- Significant experience managing the full lifecycle of large, complex donor awards.
- Significant experience managing subgrants or subawards, including due diligence and risk management.
- Strong experience working with major institutional and philanthropic donors.
- Demonstrated experience developing organization-wide grants management policies and systems.
- Experience managing and developing grants management professionals.
- Strong strategic and systems thinking skills with the ability to lead through influence.
- Excellent project and portfolio management skills with a high level of detail orientation.
- Ability to synthesize complex financial, programmatic, and compliance information.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international development, public health, or finance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the organization-wide approach to grant management across the full award lifecycle.
- Oversee the portfolio of donor-funded awards, ensuring programmatic and financial compliance.
- Lead effective award start-up and closeout processes, including grant launch and reporting.
- Establish and improve policies, tools, and standards for partner selection and sub-granting.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and Program teams to monitor budgets and mitigate financial or operational risks.
- Provide senior leadership with decision-oriented reporting on grant performance and risk.
- Build grant management capability by providing training, tools, and mentorship to staff.
