Requirements
- Minimum 4+ years of experience building production backend systems at scale.
- Proficiency in at least one systems language such as Go, Rust, or C++.
- Proficiency in at least one application language such as TypeScript or Python.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing authentication or authorization services.
- Working knowledge of SAML, SCIM, OIDC, and OAuth2 at the protocol level.
- Experience designing APIs and SDKs for internal engineering teams.
- Experience operating distributed systems at scale including caching and consistency tradeoffs.
- Familiarity with identity vendors like Auth0, WorkOS, or cloud-native IAM providers.
- Strong production debugging and systems reliability instincts.
Responsibilities
- Design and build platform services for authentication, authorization, and audit including RBAC/ReBAC services and session handling.
- Model permissions and access control primitives across ClickHouse, SQL Console, ClickPipes, and HyperDX.
- Implement protocol-level support for SAML, SCIM, OIDC, OAuth2, and MFA/passwordless flows.
- Develop audit and authorization-decision telemetry pipelines to ensure observability of access decisions.
- Partner with product engineering teams to migrate bespoke authentication implementations to the shared platform.
- Participate in platform on-call rotation and maintain production reliability for critical path systems.
