Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.
- Track record of developing highly available distributed systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Ability to define a technical plan for the delivery of significant features or system components with elegant, extensible designs.
- Experience making significant changes in a large code base using safe tools and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of personal and professional growth through proactive feedback seeking.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to support effective collaboration with a global engineering team.
- Enthusiasm for occasionally working on front-end code (no prior experience required).
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, and risk-based decision making.
- Proactively identify and lead the resolution of project, process, technology, or business issues.
- Support the operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics and participating in on-call efforts.
- Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting code review and design standards and advocating for them through writing and tech talks.
- Contribute to full-stack development, including front-end components, to help deliver end-to-end features.
- Develop team talent by providing feedback and guidance.
