Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Database Administrator in high-performance production environments.
- Deep technical expertise in MSSQL (including SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS), PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
- Experience managing databases in GCP and AWS environments.
- Proven track record of improving query performance and reducing cloud infrastructure costs.
- Extensive experience implementing and testing failover clusters, replication, and backup/recovery strategies.
- Expert scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Proficiency in engine-level logic: T-SQL, PL/pgSQL, MySQL Procedural, and MQL.
- Experience with observability platforms like New Relic or native cloud monitoring tools.
- Experience working in audited environments (SOC2, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS).
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
- Experience with AI coding assistants and automated tuning agents.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain CloudSQL/PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB environments.
- Optimize databases through query tuning and instance right-sizing to drive cost-efficiency.
- Implement security controls including encryption, row-level security, and PII masking for SOC2 and GDPR compliance.
- Design and execute High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies.
- Integrate database observability into global monitoring stacks and infrastructure-as-code ecosystems.
- Lead complex data migrations and schema changes with minimal downtime.
- Partner with application architects on scalable data model design and mentor developers on schema deployment.
- Manage workflows via Jira and define key performance and reliability metrics.
