Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Approximately 5 years of experience in college admissions or a related field, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting, advising, and supporting students from historically underrepresented backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with community organizations, educational institutions, universities, and other external partners.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning capabilities, including experience managing staff, volunteers, resources, and projects.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight timeframes.
  • Proficiency with admissions management systems such as Embark or comparable platforms.
  • Excellent data analysis, database management, and reporting capabilities.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and common computer applications.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30 days per year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full student recruitment and admissions lifecycle, including outreach, application evaluation, selection, yield, and enrollment support.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies for specific communities, regions, and constituencies, with a strong focus on access and equity.
  • Build and strengthen strategies for recruiting students from historically underrepresented backgrounds in science.
  • Supervise and support the Admissions Officer, providing direction, coaching, and accountability.
  • Develop partnerships with community-based organizations and other youth-serving organizations to identify and recruit qualified students.
  • Build and maintain relationships with university admissions offices, host campuses, affiliates, colleges, and other educational partners.
  • Collaborate with staff and committee members to develop admissions policies, application materials, and efficient application-processing procedures.
  • Counsel prospective participants and families throughout the admissions journey, answering questions about applications, admissions, and financial aid.
