Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of meaningful production outcomes.
  • Strong backend development expertise with Python and Django.
  • Proven experience building user-facing applications with React and TypeScript.
  • Experience designing and integrating APIs, relational data models, and third-party services.
  • Strong understanding of automated testing, security, data integrity, failure handling, maintainable software design, and production reliability.
  • Experience diagnosing production behavior through logs, metrics, traces, profiling, and other operational signals.
  • Meaningful professional experience incorporating AI tools into engineering workflows, with the ability to assess and validate AI-generated work critically.
  • Ability to explain technical decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and measurable results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-stack product and operational initiatives from problem framing and planning through implementation, launch, and production validation.
  • Translate ambiguous business and customer needs into practical technical plans, milestones, and shippable increments.
  • Design, build, and maintain reliable applications across Python/Django backend services and React/TypeScript frontend experiences.
  • Make thoughtful architectural decisions spanning data models, APIs, integrations, testing, security, failure handling, and production operations.
  • Use AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle to increase speed, quality, and engineering scope while maintaining accountability for the resulting work.
  • Partner directly with Product, Design, Operations, and other stakeholders to understand underlying problems and define measurable outcomes.
  • Diagnose production incidents using logs, metrics, traces, profiling, and other operational evidence; restore service responsibly and implement improvements that prevent recurrence.
