Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience within commercial general contracting, construction management, commercial real estate, or a closely related field.
- Proven ability to generate new business, manage complex sales cycles, and close consultative deals in a relationship-driven environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing sales cycles ranging from approximately 90 days to 16 months.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction and the ability to communicate effectively with key industry stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Established relationships with commercial construction professionals, strategic partners, business owners, or C-suite executives.
- Proven ability to articulate a compelling value proposition and influence senior-level decision-makers.
- Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines, sales activities, forecasts, and opportunities.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, communication, and customer-facing skills.
- Highly results-oriented, competitive, proactive, and accountable, while maintaining a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Ability to work effectively with executive leadership, marketing, estimating, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability and willingness to travel on a limited basis.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Generate new revenue by developing relationships with key contacts and decision-makers who can create new bidding and project opportunities.
- Define, develop, and execute lead qualification and demand-generation strategies across targeted markets and niches.
- Build and maintain a strong network of strategic partners to increase market visibility, credibility, and access to opportunities.
- Establish high-value meetings that support business development and broader marketing objectives.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans for each market within your assigned book of business.
- Consistently achieve or exceed annual sales targets through a combination of strategic prospecting, relationship management, and consultative selling.
- Manage and maintain an accurate sales pipeline through CRM systems, tracking opportunities from initial contact through close.
- Collaborate with marketing, estimating, executive leadership, and other internal teams to develop RFP responses, sales presentations, proposals, and pitches.
- Lead or contribute to marketing initiatives, including industry events, sales presentations, networking activities, and social media efforts.
- Navigate complex commercial opportunities and independently drive negotiations and deals valued at more than $2M through to close.
