Requirements

  • Background in health economics, actuarial science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven track record of proving ROI and value within a telehealth or digital health company, or payer/consulting background.
  • Hands-on experience measuring clinical outcomes and quality across populations, including HEDIS and chronic condition metrics.
  • Deep, hands-on experience with medical and pharmacy (Rx) healthcare claims data for cost and utilization analysis.
  • Deep expertise in causal inference including matched cohort design, risk adjustment, and quasi-experimental methods.
  • Direct experience presenting and defending ROI methodology with payers, actuaries, or technical external audiences.
  • Understanding of value-based care arrangements.
  • Hands-on data analysis capability using SQL, R, or Python.
  • Familiarity with AI-native tooling such as Claude Code to accelerate analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Advanced degree or actuarial credentials (ASA, FSA, MAAA) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own how we measure clinical outcomes across client member populations including weight loss, A1c, blood pressure, food insecurity, and HEDIS measures.
  • Own Foodsmart’s ROI methodology, translating clinical outcomes into economic value and identifying high-impact member populations.
  • Represent and defend ROI methodologies directly to payers and external actuarial or consulting firms.
  • Own the analytical substance of the value story presented to clients, grounded in their specific members' outcomes.
  • Shape value-based care strategy, including targeting member populations and establishing credible performance commitments.
  • Build a scalable outcomes and ROI methodology system for new populations and clients.
  • Partner on peer-reviewed research with academic collaborators.
  • Translate data findings into clinical care delivery practices.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a small analytics team while remaining hands-on with complex analytical work.
