Requirements
- Full-stack engineer experience building production web applications and APIs, ideally in Ruby on Rails
- Strong architectural insight with the ability to reason about tradeoffs and risks in shared systems
- High ownership mentality, self-directed and solution-oriented
- Experience on a platform, infrastructure, or enablement team building shared systems
- Experience with approval workflows, role-based access control (RBAC), or identity/auth products such as Auth0 or session management
- Collaborative mindset to partner across product teams
- Comfort using AI coding assistants and building AI-enabled agents or MCP servers
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Experience working in two-week cycles with Agile/Scrum-style planning
- Proficiency in writing, analyzing, and optimizing SQL queries (PostgreSQL)
- Customer-focused with attention to detail and quality
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve cross-cutting platform systems — approval workflows, permissions, authentication, and notifications
- Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts across teams to provide elegant solutions
- Lead and decompose complex, ambiguous projects into actionable technical tasks with migration paths
- Write performant, scalable, and secure backend code in Ruby on Rails
- Design and optimize data models and SQL queries using PostgreSQL
- Participate in code reviews, mentor fellow engineers, and help raise the technical bar
- Actively improve tools, processes, and best practices
- Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to production issues
