Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the electric power industry.
  • Hands-on experience with detailed mechanical design for thermal power projects.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting development and conceptual design of thermal power projects.
  • Strong technical communication, report-writing, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to evaluate complex engineering issues, develop practical solutions, and communicate recommendations effectively.
  • Experience with technical due diligence and owner’s engineering design reviews for thermal power projects (preferred).
  • General knowledge of power station operations, performance reviews, and process design (advantageous).
  • Experience with economic analysis, project cost analysis, or contract development (plus).
  • Familiarity with international engineering codes and standards (preferred).
  • Experience overseeing or reviewing engineering automation using tools such as Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel (valued).
  • Strong collaboration, leadership, judgment, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide development support, conceptual design, and owner’s engineer services for electric power generation projects and facilities.
  • Perform technical evaluations, engineering design reviews, technical due diligence, and project development assessments.
  • Apply mechanical engineering expertise to the design and evaluation of thermal power projects and related systems.
  • Support project economic and cost analyses, risk assessments, and contract development activities.
  • Evaluate technical aspects of projects to help clients identify opportunities, risks, constraints, and optimization strategies.
  • Contribute to assessments of power station operations, performance, process design, and overall project feasibility.
  • Support domestic and international client engagements and travel as required.
  • Lead or support the adoption of automation, data-driven workflows, AI, and agentic AI tools to improve engineering processes.
  • Provide oversight and quality review of automated calculations, technical summaries, design documentation, and other AI-assisted engineering outputs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical findings clearly to clients and project stakeholders.
