Requirements
- Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program
- Current national Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certification
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner/APRN license in Virginia or Maryland
- Active license in Washington, D.C. preferred
- Prescriptive authority
- Appropriate professional credentials to practice within the applicable jurisdiction
- Ability to provide high-quality, ethical, patient-centered care
- Strong commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive healthcare
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Ability to maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and health evaluations
- Develop individualized treatment and care plans
- Provide diagnosis and treatment within the NP's education, certification, and scope of practice
- Manage medication prescriptions and liaison with labs and pharmacies
- Monitor patient progress and response to treatment
- Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and treatment options
- Collaborate with therapists, psychologists, social workers, and primary care providers
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Provide culturally responsive, patient-centered care
