Requirements
- 2 years experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner
- Active Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP)
- Experience in Addiction and Mental Health
- Experience working with adults in need of general mental health or severe mental illness treatment
- Experience working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13yrs+)
- Experience with EHR systems
- Comfortable with telehealth technology and video communication
- Willingness to obtain additional state licensures
- Active DEA registration required for Florida or New York licensed clinicians
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ mental and physical status based on presenting symptoms and complaints.
- Diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions.
- Conduct individual psychotherapy for patients with chronic or acute mental disorders.
- Order diagnostic testing such as EKGs and lab work as needed.
- Prescribe psychotropic medications and monitor patient side effects.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and evaluate treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatments.
- Document histories, assessments, plans, and outcomes in the EHR.
