Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration; advanced degree (MBA) or professional license (CPA) preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in finance and operations roles, ideally within venture capital or mission-driven organizations.
- Expertise in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, tax, and audit.
- Demonstrated experience building or transforming financial and operational systems and streamlining processes.
- Proven track record of managing multi-entity structures (e.g., 501(c)(4)/LLC, fiscal sponsorship, donor-advised funds).
- Experience with investment or portfolio valuation methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience driving results independently and in partnership with external vendors.
- Proven track record of effective and persuasive communication to board-level executives.
- Ability to translate complex financial concepts for non-financial audiences.
- High ethical standards, sound judgment, and discretion.
Responsibilities
- Direct all aspects of the finance function across entity structures, ensuring fiscal responsibility and adherence to best practices.
- Manage financial forecasting, budget preparation, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Partner with the CEO and management team as a strategic advisor on financial and operational matters.
- Own systems, IT infrastructure, and tech stack to ensure operational excellence and scalability.
- Lead audit efforts and serve as the primary contact with external auditors and outsourced accounting support.
- Manage multi-entity, multi-funder structure, including intercompany allocation and coordination across affiliated entities.
- Own the organization's portfolio valuation process in partnership with the Audit & Finance Committee.
- Serve as the main finance liaison to the Board of Directors and manage board resolutions.
