Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3-5 years of hospital and/or physician revenue cycle experience covering eligibility, registration, billing, AR follow-up, and denial management.
- Hands-on experience submitting claims directly to payers via Medicare DDE/FISS, state Medicaid portals, or payer-specific channels.
- Proficiency in client EHR, PMS, and billing systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UB-04 and CMS-1500 claim forms, revenue codes, CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and modifiers.
- Expertise in payer processes (Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, VA, commercial).
- Working knowledge of NCCI/MUE edits and LCD/NCD policy logic.
- Experience using major payer portals like Availity, NaviNet, and Medicare MAC portals.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel (filtering, sorting, pivot tables).
- Knowledge of HIPAA, billing compliance, and CMS regulations.
- CRCR or CRCS certification preferred.
- 6+ years of cross-functional experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Flex across assigned functional areas based on client volume and engagement need.
- Verify insurance coverage using payer portals, EDI transactions, and direct outreach.
- Correct patient demographic and insurance data in EHR/PMS systems.
- Submit clean claims directly to payers including Medicare DDE/FISS and state Medicaid portals.
- Resolve claim edits, scrubber rejections, and pre-submission errors at the source system level.
- Work aged accounts receivable, prioritizing high-dollar and high-aging balances.
- Research and resolve claim denials and underpayments through appeals and corrected claims.
- Document all account activity in the source system.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards in a high-volume environment.
