Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting, finance, or business.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, interpretative, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to process and analyze large volumes of qualitative and quantitative information.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building credibility with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent client service mindset with a focus on timeliness and professional communication.
- Deadline-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Agency or Professional Services experience preferred.
- Prior experience with month-end close, revenue recognition, and project accounting is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly project accounting efforts including preparing status meetings and managing financial trackers.
- Review and reconcile new projects, change orders, budget adjustments, and carve outs.
- Set up new clients in accounting systems and map employees to billable rates.
- Manage revenue recognition, ensure contract compliance, and prepare project revenue forecasts.
- Review and process client invoicing, follow up on past due invoices, and manage client accruals.
- Analyze project costs, expense reports, and subcontractor hours against budgets.
- Assist with annual budget preparation, P&L line items, and audit documentation.
- Mentor junior staff on financial approaches and best practices.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and workflows.
